2027 KCCMA Scholarship Form
Purpose:
To provide an opportunity for MPA students to network with City/County Managers from across Kentucky in an educational setting.
Scholarship Event:
Winter Conference, February 25-26, 2027, in Lexington.
Schools:
The following eight Kentucky universities offer an MPA program.
- Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) – Richmond
- Northern Kentucky University (NKU) – Highland Heights
- University of Kentucky (UK) – Lexington
- University of Louisville (UofL) – Louisville
- Kentucky State University (KSU) – Frankfort
- Morehead State University – Morehead
- Murray State University (MSU) – Murray

Western Kentucky University (WKU) – Bowling Green
MPA students from universities in Kentucky have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship. No more than four scholarships will be awarded. A scholarship application and criteria follow this document. An essay question is included. The KCCMA Executive Director will notify each of the universities when applications will be accepted. Expenses to be covered from the scholarship are as follows:
- Conference registration
- Hotel accommodations for those traveling more than 1 hour – 2 nights (Wednesday and Thursday)
- Hotel accommodations for those traveling less than 1 hour – 1 night if needed
- Breakfast, lunch, and evening meal (including dinner event) on Thursday
- Breakfast on Friday

Transportation will not be reimbursed unless a hardship is brought to the attention of the Board.
Instructions:
- Submit your completed application to the KCCMA Scholarship Committee Chairperson. If this form is incomplete or inaccurate, it will not be considered.
- Please complete one application for each scholarship.
- Applicants are to provide a written statement (less than 500 words) describing their educational goals and why attending the KCCMA Winter Conference will benefit them in their education or current employment.
- All students who receive a scholarship will be required to provide an email and telephone number for future communications.
- Recipients will be asked to complete an evaluation survey within 30 days of the conference
Criteria for Application
To be eligible to apply for the KCCMA Winter Conference Scholarship, you must meet the criteria listed below:
- Currently a student at one of Kentucky’s universities.
- Must be earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA.

Planning to work in a city or county government profession upon graduation.
Applicants are to provide a written statement (less than 500 words) describing their educational goals and why attending the KCCMA Winter Conference will benefit them in their education or current employment.
